DUALCO predominantly uses synthetic oil-based materials instead of vegetable oil-based products. Products are manufactured utilizing a reaction blending process, and are not simply “cold blended.”

Storage and Shelf Life
DUALCO products are manufactured with longevity in-mind for extended shelf life. When these products are stored inside under non-extreme conditions and temperatures, the shelf life is expected to be up to three years. The stored Lube Products’ integrity will remain viable in a like-new condition.

When selecting a valve lube sealant, valve cleaner, or a valve stem packing, the material in the “line” being controlled by the valve to be serviced, is the primary consideration, closely followed by temperature and pressure considerations. Any of several products may be adequate for a particular application. But considerations, such as the need for extra lubricity, seal-ability, the material’s ability to “plate out” (cover and protect) metal surfaces, the presence of CO₂ , H₂S , water and contaminates such as sand, rust, dust, old hardened sealants and welding slag, are also extremely important considerations.
Material comparisons should be based upon formula, physical properties, and application (functional similarities). Since the proprietary formulas of other companies’ materials are not available, the only comparisons that can legitimately be made have to be based on application and, to an extent, physical properties. Also, experience has taught that even basing a decision on the lube sealant currently in use may not be the best approach. All too often, the lube sealant or packing from another company currently in use, is inadequate or inappropriate for the application intended.
Valve Lube Sealants are available in at least two common forms:
• STICK form is generally used when seal-ability is the most importantrequirement by, but not limited to Plug Valves. “J”, “K”, and “S5” Sticks are packaged in biodegradable cellophane. Other sizes are packaged in plastic containers.
• BULK form is generally used when lubricity is the most important requirement by, but not limited to Gate and Ball Valves. Less viscous, bulk material easily flows through small lubrication ports and confined lubricant channels, providing critical lubrication to these hard-to-reach valve parts. • Synthetic base oils, thickeners and additives are chemically reacted to form premium products.
• Valve Lube Sealants are an integral part of every lubricated Plug valve and other lubricated valve styles.
• When the proper Valve Lube Sealant is used, the chemical attacks and corrosive characteristics of pipeline flow material is resisted.
• A flexible renewable seal around the valve port is formed when the proper Valve Lube Sealant is used.
Quality is Key to:
• Secure an absolutely pressure tight seal.
• Form a seal and provide a lubricating film between the valve’s internal sealing surfaces.
• Depending on the service application, a valve seal can be maintained over a range of temperatures and pressure with the correct lube sealant.
• Lubricate and prevent unwanted metal-to-metal contact and galling of valve sealing surfaces.
• In lubricated valves, sealant provides a flexible and renewable seat. For this reason, the sealant must not only have correct plasticity, but also resistance to pipeline fluids such as harmful solvents and chemicals.
• Plug Valve “Jacking” occurs when the pressurized Lube Sealant supplies the hydraulic means for lifting the plug from its tapered seat.
• Corrosion resistance and corrosion prevention of internal valve parts is enhanced.
Valve Cleaners
DUALCO Arctic Valve Cleaner (AVC)
is a unique compound will lubricate valves while emulsifying a variety of organic and organometallic compounds common to pipeline operations. AVC is a combination valve cleaner and lubricant, and can be used as both. When used regularly, this material will prevent additional build-up of pipeline contaminants. AVC is an excellent choice, when working in true arctic, extreme cold weather environments. AVC pumps easily, and is needed when lubricated valves are frozen and extremely difficult to operate. AVC is not recommended for long-term CO₂ service.

DUALCO Dispersing Valve Cleaner (DVC)
In many valves there is residual gum, lacquer deposits, corrosion deposits, and residual solids, as well as old hardened sealants that are very resistant to standard valve cleaners. DVC is engineered to clean out and free up lubricated valves that are extremely difficult to operate or completely inoperative. Upon freeing the valve, DVC exits the valve and safely disperses when it enters the product stream, thus reducing fouling and corrosive effects of line contaminates to downstream assets.

DUALCO Heavy Duty Valve Cleaner (HDVC)
In older valves there is often residual gum, lacquer, rust, and corrosion deposits as well as old, hardened sealants that are very resistant to standard valve cleaners. Heavy Duty Valve Cleaner is a combination valve cleaner and penetrating lubricant carefully engineered to clean out and free up lubricated valves that are frozen or extremely difficult to operate. It is black in color and has a temperature range of – 40ºF to 400ºF.

DUALCO Valve Cleaner (VC)
This semi-liquid is used to penetrate, lift, and clean out materials such as old, hardened lubricants, sealants, dust, rust and other trash that has built up in the lubricant grooves and ports in all types of lubricated valves. Valve Cleaner is a moisture displacer and pumps easily. It is compatible with all lubricants and sealants. Gold colored, basic hydrating and softening material made of non-petroleum oils; it has a temperature range of – 20ºF to + 400ºF.

Valve Stem Packing & Sealants
DUALCO Arctic Valve Stem Packing (ASP)
is a pumpable Packing and Sealant containing proprietary, non-reactive micron size fillers and graphitic fibers in a blend of classified, synthetic oils. This material is recommended for use in very low temperature, hydrocarbon service. ASP is required in true Arctic conditions. ASP also performs very well in steam and hot oil services. This material is not for use in plastic injection systems.

DUALCO Corrosive Service (CS)
is a superior combination lubricant and sealant. This material is suitable for use in plug, ball, and gate valves. CS has been specially formulated for use in vales carrying LNG, strong acids, H₂S, CO₂, methanol, crude oil, natural gas, gasoline, jet fuel, lubricating oils or mixtures of these products. The proprietary premium additive package provides anti-rust, ant-wear, and corrosion inhibitors. This material bonds to metal surfaces, minimizing wear and providing excellent corrosion protection. It has excellent resistance to oxidation, and is highly chemical resistant. CS is necessary where extreme temperature extremes may occur.

DUALCO Emergency Seal (ES)
is designed for leaking plug, ball or gate valves. It is formulated to seal without the introduction of large quantities of solids into your valve. This synthetic material gets thicker and more resistant to flow as pressure is applied. It blocks and closes most severe cuts, allowing the valve to seal. Emergency Seal is a special service material, H₂S and CO₂ resistant. This material stays pliable like a soft “O” Ring. This synthetic sealant is designed for use in natural gas, sweet or sour crude oil, and water. Its high metal adhesion and “solids free” sealing capability, allows repeated usage in the affected valve, and makes for an ideal emergency lube sealant. Emergency Seal is designed for temporary leak repair on non-standard sealant issues, that regular lube-sealant will not resolve.

DUALCO Extreme Emergency Seal (EES)
is designed for plug, ball or gate valves with serious sealing problems. It is formulated to seal without the introduction of large quantities of solids into your valve. This synthetic material gets thicker and more resistant to flow as pressure is applied. It blocks and closes very severe cuts, allowing the valve to seal. Extreme Emergency Seal is a severe service material, suitable for use in the presence of H₂S and CO₂ and has a temperature range of -55° F to 450° F. This “solids free” synthetic sealant is designed for use in all hydrocarbon services. High metal adhesion and “solids free” sealing capability, allows repeated usage in the affected valve, and makes for the ideal extreme emergency lube sealant. For Industrial use only.
NEW! Frac Valve Black (FVB)
is a combination lubricant and sealant with Moly Disulfide to reduce operating torque and ultra-fine graphite for additional lubricity. FVB IS 100% synthetic. It is made of stable, non-reactive materials and is designed for use in valves controlling the flow of hydrocarbon gases, crude oil, gasoline, jet fuel, lubricating oils or mixtures of these products. It is water resistant, is inhibited for H₂S (<1000 ppm) and CO₂ (< 40%) applications and is resistant to organic acids and caustic solutions. Being heavier and more dense than other materials, FVB is best for extreme temperature and pressure applications.

NEW! Frac Valve Premium Lubricant (FVPL)
is a lubricant that protects frac valve components against corrosion & oxidation. Because of its insolubility, FVPL provides excellent internal valve component protection from Frac fluids containing hydrocarbons and water. This material is 100% synthetic and is a high performance, non-melting frac valve lubricant that is water and acid resistant. FVPL is inhibited for H2S and CO2 protection. FVPL is also resistant to organic acids, caustic solutions and helps in protecting against (MIC) Microbial Influenced Corrosion.

DUALCO General Purpose (GP)
is a combination lubricant and sealant. This material is suitable for use in plug valves as a sealant and in ball and gate valves as a lubricant. General Purpose (GP) meets U. S. Government Specification SAE-AMS-G-6032 “Grease, Plug Valve, Gasoline and Oil Resistant, NATO Code Number G-363, Metric.” General Purpose is 100% synthetic. It is made of stable, non-reactive materials and is designed for use in valves controlling the flow of natural gas, crude oil, gasoline, jet fuel, lubricating oils or mixture of these products. It is water resistant, has excellent “plating out” characteristics, is inhibited for H₂S (<1000 ppm) and CO₂ (< 40%) applications and is resistant to organic acids and caustic solutions. General Purpose a general service material.

DUALCO General Purpose Black (GPB)

It is made of stable, non-reactive materials and is designed for use in valves controlling the flow of natural gas, crude oil, gasoline, jet fuel, lubricating oils or mixtures of these products. It is water resistant, has excellent “plating out” characteristics, is inhibited for H₂S (<1000 ppm) and CO₂ (< 40%) applications and is resistant to organic acids and caustic solutions. General Purpose Black is a general service material.

DUALCO General Purpose Black Winter Grade (GPBWG)
is a combination lubricant and sealant with Molybdenum added for additional lubricity. This material is suitable for use in plug valves as a sealant and in ball and gate valves as a lubricant. GPBWG meets U. S. Government Specification SAE-AMS-G 6032 “Grease. Plug Valve SAE-AMS-G-6032 “Grease, Plug Valve, Gasoline and Oil Resistant, NATO Code Number G-363, Metric”with Molybdenum added. GPBWG is 100% synthetic. It is made of stable, non-reactive materials and is designed for use in valves controlling the flow of natural gas, crude oil, gasoline, jet fuel, lubricating oils or mixtures of these products. It is water resistant, has excellent “plating out” characteristics, is inhibited for H₂S (<1000 ppm) and CO₂ (< 40%) applications and is resistant to organic acids and caustic solutions. General Purpose Black Winter Grade is a general service material.

DUALCO General Purpose Black with PTFE (GPB-TFE)
is a combination lube sealant and emergency leak stop. It is 100% synthetic and contains ultra-fine graphite and extra fine particles of PTFE. This material is suitable for emergency use in leaking plug, ball, and gate valves. GPB-TFE has a temperature range of -29° F to +400° F and is Black in color. This material meets most technical standards of SAE.AMS – G-6032, NATO Code # G-6032, “Grease, Plug Valve, Gasoline & Oil Resistant” plus it has ultra-fine graphite and extra fine particles of PTFE added. GPB-TFE is 100% synthetic. It is made of stable, non-reactive materials and is designed for use in valves controlling the flow of natural gas, crude oil, jet fuel, lubricating oils or mixtures of these products. It is water resistant, has excellent “plating out” characteristics, is inhibited for H₂S (<1000 ppm) and CO₂ (<40%) applications and is resistant to organic acids and caustic solutions. It builds up at the leak point and is designed to stop the flow of leaking material.

DUALCO General Purpose Heavy (GPH)
This combination heavy lubricant and sealant is suitable for plug, ball and gate valves. GPH is off-white/amber in color and has a temperature range of 0° to + 450°. DUALCO GPH meets U.S. Government Spec. SAE – AMS – G 6032 “Grease, Plug Valve, Gasoline & Oil Resistant.” GPH is 100% synthetic, and is made with very heavy oils. GPH is designed for use in valves controlling the flow of natural gas, crude oil, gasoline, jet fuel, lubricating oils or mixtures of these products. It is water resistant and has excellent lubrication properties. GPH is inhibited for H2S and CO2 applications and is resistant to organic acids and caustic solutions.

DUALCO High Temperature (HT)
The premium Synthetic oils and inorganic thickeners make this material a high temperature, non-melting lubricant/sealant for valves in geothermal service, petroleum refineries and natural gas plants. It is formulated to resist aliphatic hydrocarbons, including gasoline, kerosene, propane, butane, natural gas, steam, hot oil, dilute acid and Caustic Solutions. High Temperature has an excellent anti-seize compound (molybdenum disulfide) and will protect threaded connections from galling and wear. This material converts to a dry film lubricant at elevated temperatures and will not harden.

DUALCO “Peanut Butter” (PB)
is a combination lubricant and sealant.
This inexpensive, nonabrasive, material is recommended for body fill of WKM style gate valves. Recommended for sealing valves in water, gas, condensate, oil and petroleum services, and for products such as gasoline, butane, hydrocarbon vapors, ammonia, glycerin, solvents and sour gas. PB is “creamy and spongy”. By using this material, there is less friction and wear on pumps, packing assemblies, and friction parts than other conventional materials. DUALCO Premium (P)
is a combination lubricant and sealant. This material is suitable for use in plug, ball, and gate valves. Premium meets U. S. Government Specification SAE-AMS-G-6032 “Grease, Plug Valve, Gasoline and Oil Resistant, NATO Code Number G-363, Metric.” Premium is 100% synthetic. It is made of stable, non-reactive materials and is designed for use in valves controlling the flow of natural gas, crude oil, gasoline, jet fuel, lubricating oils or mixture of these products. It is water resistant, has excellent “plating out” characteristics, is inhibited for H₂S (<1000 ppm) and CO₂ (< 40%) applications and is resistant to organic acids and caustic solutions. Premium is a special service material. Laboratory tests have shown this material reduces operating torque up to 50%. Premium should be used where extreme pressures prevail. This material is designed for use in close tolerance valves.

NEW! Premium Poly Valve Lubricant (PPVL)
is an excellent lubricant and sealant that protects valve components against corrosion and oxidation. Because of its insolubility, PPVL provides superior internal valve component protection from Frac fluids containing hydrocarbons and water. This material is a 100% synthetic, non-soap and high performance, non-melting valve lubricant that is water and acid resistant. Premium Poly Valve Lubricant is inhibited for H2S and CO2 protection. PPVL is also resistant to organic acids, caustic solutions and helps in protecting against (MIC) Microbial Influenced Corrosion.
