Safety
When it comes to operator safety, WARNINGS are very important. the following safety warnings are included to bring attention to important areas of concern. Operators need to be fully aware of risks associated with the operation of DUALCO equipment. Always consult product instructions and call DUALCO with any questions.
WARNINGS
• Safety is to be observed when using DUALCO lubrication equipment. Proper care and instruction should be taken to avoid accident. DUALCO cannot be responsible for misuse of any equipment, including stub nose, needle nose, other nozzles, and any item manufactured for a specific purpose. All items are intended for use only as a lubrication device, and other uses are not recommended. Always use the correct product for the application intended.
• Always consult operating instructions and refer to DUALCO standard terms and conditions of sale, other product information, or request assistance from DUALCO or other authorized service companies.
• Because of the weight of some DUALCO products, injury to personnel, property damage, or product damage may occur if products are dropped.
• Many of DUALCO products are pressure containing devices and must be used with caution and according to industry accepted standards. All instructions, whether written or verbal, must be followed so products are used correctly, safely, and with caution. Pressure ratings must not be exceeded.
• According to industry accepted standards, inspect and maintain all products, assemblies, fittings, and connections on a regular basis for corrosion, other damage, stress or wear.
• To extend life of DUALCO products, keep products free from oil, dirt, corrosion, extreme weather conditions, other foreign matter and abuse. Most DUALCO products are designed for industry use, not for home use.
• Please do not hesitate to call us with any questions you may have.
Hose & Hose-Assemblies Maintenance – General Use;
Safety is to be observed when using hoses and hose assemblies!
DUALCO hoses and hose assemblies are designed and manufactured to high quality and safety standards; however, human injury can occur if this warning is not observed and precautions are not taken. Safety is very important. Every assembly component must be able to endure the correct pressure ratings. A pressurized assembly is only as strong as its weakest component. Make sure every assembly is assembled correctly. Be sure to always use the correct hose for the application intended.
• Pressure ratings must not be exceeded. All hoses, fittings, and connections must be checked, tightened, and securely fastened on a regular basis. Weak, worn or damaged hoses can rupture —causing human injury and property damage. Always use damage-free components and discard a hose after 3 years of use or before, if any signs of damage has occurred.
• As hoses age and weaken, a slow leak may develop that will produce a “bubbling” of the outer hose covering. The life time of a hose depends on many factors such as line pressure, material running through the hose, and environment. To extend life of hoses and hose assemblies, keep outside hose surface free from oil, dirt, corrosion, extreme weather conditions, other foreign matter and abuse.
• Never handle a pressurized hose, bend a hose smaller than a 4” radius, or bend or twist a hose with force. Always be aware of the recommended bending radius of a hose. If a hose is bent beyond manufacturer’s bend radius recommendation, the hose can be damaged; hose life will be shortened, internal hose wires will break and personal safety is impaired.
• Hoses that rupture under pressure can cause serious bodily injury such as the injection of material under the skin or into the eyes. If an injury occurs, immediately seek the appropriate medical treatment. Before medical treatment occurs for any injury, doctors need the name of any material that has been injected into the body so the correct treatment can be received.
• Inspect and maintain all hoses, hose assemblies, and fittings on a regular basis, according to industry standards, for corrosion, other damage, stress or wear. Responsible operation by professional users is important for continued safety. Most DUALCO products are designed for industry use, not for home use.
Hose & Hose-Assemblies Maintenance
Hand-Operated Grease Pumping Equipment:
Safety is to be observed when using hoses and hose assemblies!
The pressure ratings indicated on DUALCO hoses and hose assemblies are applicable for hand-operated grease pumping equipment only. Do not use with power-operated equipment. Other hoses and fitting accessories are available for power-operated or automated equipment.
